February Session

This is the official 1st session of they year!!!

Thesis Social Jam Sessions is back for the 3rd year running and would love to thank you all, that have supported us from the beginning till today. Much love.

We back with a killer line up that is anchored by two international acts/DJ. On the thesis stage, OY! (This is short for Joy). Hailing from our adopted nation, Switzerland, OY uses a mixture of sounds and squeaks, frog rib-...bits and human voices. Her style is a mixture of soul, hip hop, spoken word, improv, electronic, jazz, classical and rock.

QB Smith (Warm Days) (UK)
In barely a few short months DJ / producer / song writer QB Smith has clocked up work with the likes of Atjazz, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Jose Carretas, Monique Bingham, Simbad and Brian Temba. Warm Days, is actually QB's soul, jazz, hip hop and broken beat collaborations project, bringing in some of the best musicians, singers and MCs from the world underground.

These two will be supported by Jazz Lee. the name says it all. Jazz with some soul and hip hops links. We have brought back the funny guys courtesy of the comedy society in PTA. Tshekedi and King flat are going to leave you in tears. Coming in to pay tribute to J dilla with some dilla inspired beats will be Themba (Music@last) crew member. He is definitely a DJ for the future. Mdoo makes a come back to give us some laid back world wide music that is influenced by soul.

2011 Winter/Autumn essential trends

Now the idea is that we all prepare ourselves for the season ahead and yes that means,,, START shopping for winter wear, so here are some things to keeps in mind while you’re on this fashion expedition.

Coat is a classic must have though the cut and the silhouette is in constant evolution. In 2011 as per trend masculine cloak, male version overcoat and the military styled jacket will carry you through this winter.

Taking inspiration from the 70s, with the tailored look for ladies we continue on the path of the men-pants, pencil skirts just above the knees or as mini and tight as the office allows, paired with opaque stockings or leggings. My advice keep it high waist and flare just as a way to maintain clean cut lines and the illusion of height and posture.

The winter color palette pretty much never changes… the trusted black and gray are always the order of the season. Other colors that are on a need to have list are navy blue, khakhi and other autumnal ones such as reds, camel, mahogany and copper. I reckon, this gives you an opportunity to be creative and have fun with the colors.

Animal and tribal prints make for an interesting touch of glamour an eccentricity. Overlays and layering are the perfect way to own a look and as for shoes, boots reaching mid-calf are a sure way to seal the look.

We won’t dictate to you what you should wear but we’ll share our ‘know how’ just to help you keep up with the latest stylish trends.

More Decor pieces.....

CD rack mounted on the wall, *nice touch*

Timeless,Eccentric pieces to accessorise your home....

Styling  your house or apartment need not be expensive nor exclusive but its an efffort put into giving your living space an identity that will make it feel like 'SMALL HEAVEN', after all not all of us can afford the services of interior decorators. Some renovations are in working progress at my house and we are a bit far from getting the house looking like a modern tuscan home but Im already having decor dreams and nightmares. So I realised that, like in everything involving art a mood and a feel needs to be set so that you know what you working towards. For now the plan is to is to collect abstract artwork, vintage mirror frames, african inspired sculptures, exotic textured throws and cushions, big vases with accents of  asian decor amongst other things. Once furnishing has been taken care off then one can have fun with accessorising, adding personality and a homey feel to the house.

Here are some few ideas everyone can use :

THIS WINTER?????? (part1)

What to have in your closet this winter; payclose attention to detail:

: in pic Daniela Angeli

I call this look,,,'u cant go wrong!!

.................. a chick combination of style and confidence is what i think and its the perfect outfit for a night out with the girls. She's not trying too hard, I have come to realise that as one matures, you spend less time trying to prove a point and more time expressing effortlessly, sheer style and personality.
The coat and the colour are spot on, although with a classic and feminine feel  I think it still works!!
